Lady Liberty


The Statue of Liberty was presented to America in 1886 by France. Under her left arm, Lady Liberty holds a book. At her feet are broken shackels. In her right arm, she holds a torch. It is made out of copper which has changed color overtime. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom. Gustave Eiffel was the designer of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty weighs 450,000 lbs. There are 7 rays on her crown to represent the 7 continents and the 7 seas.
