The Statue of Liberty took ten hours a day, 7 days a week, and 9 years to finish. It was finished in 1884. Also it was presented to America July 4th. Lady Liberty holds a tablet in her left hand that reads July 4,1776. Lady Liberty holds a flaming torch in her right hand. There are seven rays on the Statue of Liberty's crown, one for each of the seven continents, each measuring up to 9 feet in length and weighing as much as 150 pounds. Also the Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28,1886. Lady Liberty also has a chain representing the symbol of Freedom. The Statue came from the French as a gift.
