Statue Of Liberty




The Statue of Liberty was built with the help of France. The statue is 151 feet tall.
The Statue of Liberty is a woman holding a lit flame in her right hand and in her left hand is a tablet which the date that the Decleration of Indpendence was signed engraved in it. At her feet is a broken chain which represents freedom of the slaves. The Statue is made of a sheeting of pure copper, hung on a frame work of steel except for the flame which is coated in gold leaf. People around the world call her Lady Liberty. Lady Liberty's color is now green because of a chemical reaction process called oxidation that happened between the sea water around her. There are 154 steps from the pedestral to the head of the staute. The location of the of the statue is on Liberty Island, New York.
