Mount Rushmore
Mount Rushmore
By Karoline and Reagan
Mount Rushmore is located in South Dakota. The four faces on Mount Rushmore are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt , and Abraham Lincoln. Thomas Jefferson, had to be blasted off of Washington’s right and rebuilt on his left. It took 400 men and women to build it. Two million tons of granite were blasted off of Mount Rushmore. Gutzon Borglum built Mount Rushmore and Doane Robinson thought of the idea. They had to climb 700 stairs to get up to the top. It took 14 years to build Mount Rushmore. It is not yet finished because Gutzon Borglum died during construction. The Presidents were supposed to be carved to their waists.
